Upon acceptance to the HESAA program you will be assigned an academic adviser, which can be found in your acceptance letter, in Banner or in Degree Works. All students will be assigned to a full-time faculty in the HESAA program.
Students must meet with their Academic Adviser to complete the Degree Candidacy Form after completing 9 credits in the program. This form must be on file in the HEA department for each student and serves as an intended plan of completion. Students who need to change their plan should meet with their Academic Adviser to submit a new Degree Candidacy Form. Students should meet with their academic adviser at least once per semester to ensure accuracy of degree requirements and progress towards completion.
In addition, meeting with your adviser is a great time to speak with them about additional opportunities, such as research experience, independent study, professional development and involvement in professional associations, or your internship experience. Students are encouraged to meet with multiple faculty of the HEA department to diversify your perspectives and to get to know the faculty personally.
