Dr. VanDerLinden is a full-time Lecturer in the Higher Education & Student Affairs Administration Program. Dr. VanDerLinden worked in the private sector as Vice President of Assessment Programs at Campus Labs (acq: ONE) and previously held administrative positions in assessment and institutional research at the University of Utah and at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL. Dr. VanDerLinden was an assistant professor in the Educational Leadership Department at Northern Arizona University and adjunct faculty at Canisus College.
Dr. VanDerLinden has presented at over 100 conferences and regularly conducts on-campus workshops related to assessment in higher education. She has published in Research in Higher Education, the Community College Review, and the Community College Journal of Research and Practice. In 2015, she self-published a book on the controversial Common Core assessments entitled, Common Core: Passing the Test?
Her research is focused on assessment strategies and organizational processes that support student success, as well as administrative leadership and the ways in which data-driven leadership can transform higher education.
She holds a Ph.D. in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University, a M.Ed. from Pennsylvania State University, and a B.A. from Nazareth College.
