Students may consider enrolling in an Independent Study as one of their electives in their course of study. Independent Studies are an opportunity for a student to explore an area of higher education and student affairs that may not be covered in the current curriculum or to explore an area more in depth. Students may also collaborate with faculty on research projects as an independent study, to further enhance their research knowledge and skills. Students who are interested in completing an Independent Study should meet with their Academic Adviser to discuss the various opportunities and complete the requirements for approval. Students may complete no more than 6 credits of Independent Study
Students who complete an Independent Study may consider presenting their research and work at the Graduate Student Research Fair sponsored by the Graduate Student Association in the spring semester.
