Students in the HESAA program are required to complete two distinct supervised experiences (150 hours each or 10 hours/week for 15 weeks). These internships are a critical component of student affairs professional preparation and provide students an opportunity to explore multiple areas of the profession in different institutional settings (i.e. small private, large public). Students should enroll in HEA 624 or HEA 625 concurrently with their internship experience. All internships need to be approved in advance by the faculty teaching Internship I or II respectively.
The HEA Department hosts an annual Internship & Open Advising Night in the fall semester. This is an opportunity to learn more about the Internship experience, requirements, and the national internship opportunities.
