The Davis family thanks everyone who supported fundraising activities or contributed to the Robert A. Davis Endowed Scholarship. Over the past decade, we have awarded scholarships to those students in the HEA Department/SPA Program who met the criteria of outstanding academic performance while giving back to the community through volunteer or non-paid activity.
The RAD fund started with HEA/SPA Internship II students and faculty who embraced the values and standards that Bobby stood for. They worked hard and after selling t-shirts, planning desert social activities and procuring over $10,000.00, 2 years after inception, in 2007, the scholarship was endowed. Through the unselfish efforts of Tim Gallineau, Robert Naples, Daniel Velez, Douglas McNabb, Vicky T. Sapp, Mari Santiago, Pedro Santana, Jeannie MacDonald, Jude Jayatilleke, Mike Spence, Jeff Brown, Craig Harris, Barbara Boquard, Dawn Greil and a host of those who gave time, energy and financial gifts, the scholarship supports travel and expenses to a national conference within the profession forever. All done by faculty, students, alumni and friends!
As a Gold Star family of an American Hero, we thank you for your support. This would not be possible without your great contribution. The family and HEA Department also extend our gratitude to all standing members of the Board for all of their time and effort. Board, your dedication and commitment has not gone unnoticed.
Currently, Bobby continues to be recognized with Dr. Wanda M. Davis, founder of the scholarship, receiving a Citation and recognition by the State of Pennsylvania through the office of Senator Dinniman for the recent dedication of an historical marker that honors PFC. Robert A. Davis. Until we can offer some financial support to all students who attend a national conference, our work is not done. We hope that you will keep RAD in mind as you make your annual contributions. On behalf of the Davis family, and the faculty and staff of the HEA Department, thank you!
Davis Family Foundation Board Historical Marker initial meeting in 2005
In the summer of 2017, Dr. Davis sponsored a Robert A. Davis Endowed Scholarship (RAD) co-ed softball team. Not only did they win the league, they won the tournament as well. Two trophies honoring Bobby!!!
