This micro-credential is a two-course sequence that provides graduate students and community members with knowledge and skills related to urban education pedagogies. This micro-credential, offered 100% online, will provide graduate students from Buffalo State and across SUNY important and marketable skills in urban pedagogies. This micro-credential is a stand- alone enhancement of academic and skill-based knowledge for graduate students and community members.  Both courses in this micro-credential are stackable as they role directly into the Adult Education M.S. degree program.  

Admission Requirements

Teacher Education students and Adult Education M.S. students will seek to complete this micro-credential as part of their graduate degree programs. In addition to being an appropriate micro-credential for all education majors, the Urban Teacher micro-credential is a good fit for Multidisciplinary Studies majors, Public Administration majors, Higher Education Administration majors, Criminal Justice majors, Public Relations majors and Creativity Studies majors.

  • Open to graduate students from any major and/or non-matriculated students.
  • There are no prerequisite classes for either course in the micro-credential program.
  • A 2.5 undergraduate degree GPA or a 3.0 graduate GPA is required.
  • No specialized skills are required for enrollment.
